How to Forward Your Gmail Account to Another Account
This tutorial is a fairly simple one. Throughout it, we will look into how you can set up email forwarding to other accounts, using your Gmail account.
To begin, we would recommend that you open the Gmail account that you wish forward the email from. Go to the Mail Settings options simply by clicking the Cog icon that you will see on the top right-hand side of the window open in front of you.
When you choose this option, it will automatically open the General tab. However, you want to choose the Forwarding and POP/IMAP option. On the top of the section, next to the Forwarding tab that is, you would want to select the Add a Forwarding Address option.
After completing the previous step, you will be presented with a window that looks like the one below. Enter the email address that you want to forward to in the entry bar.
This will now be followed up by a message that will carry the following message: A Confirmation code has been sent to verify permission.
When you click on OK, you will move on to the next stage. Here, you will see that a Forwarding verification is waiting for you.
Now, you can do this in more than one way.
- Go to the email account that you will and want to be forwarding to. Copy the verification code that you will be provided and paste it into the verification box that you will come across in the forwarding section of your Gmail account that you want to use to forward messages. Click Verify when you are done.
- The other option begins by clicking on the Verification URL. This URL will also be provided in the verification email that you received. You will click on it to go to the Verification page and you will see a congratulatory and greetings message.
After establishing what option you want to use, go to the Gmail account you are going to use to make forwards and again, choose the Forward and POP/IMAP tab in the Mail Settings option. Uncheck the box that says Disable Forwarding and ensure the email address mentioned is correct and it is the one you want to forward.
